Education & Training of Dr. Svetlana Prisiazhnykh, TMJ Specialist in Dubai
My Academic Background in Dentistry
I defended my PhD on functional diagnostics of TMJ disorders in 2023 — and that research shaped everything I do clinically. Before that, I spent years in Moscow trying to understand why the same symptoms kept appearing in patients with completely different dental histories. The answer, it turned out, was always in the function.

How Education Shapes My TMJ Approach
When I see a patient with chronic jaw pain and three previous failed treatments, I don't start over from scratch — I start from function. The tools change. The instruments get more precise. But the core question I ask in every case is still the same one my PhD research was built on: why is this particular system failing?
